Rochester Residents Urged to Adhere to Snow Emergency Parking Regulations |
City officials emphasize compliance to ensure public safety during winter storms |
The City of Rochester is reminding residents to follow established parking regulations during Snow Emergencies to facilitate efficient snow removal and maintain public safety.
During a declared Snow Emergency, on-street parking is strictly prohibited. Vehicles parked on city streets during these times may be subject to towing at the owner's expense.
To accommodate residents, the city has designated specific municipal lots where parking is permitted throughout the duration of the emergency:
60 Wakefield Street (NAPA Lot)
North Main Lot (106 North Main Street)
Liberty Street Lot (14 Liberty Street)
Columbus Lot A (324 Columbus Avenue)
Residents are encouraged to utilize these lots and to remove their vehicles promptly once the parking ban is lifted to allow for continued snow clearing operations.
For those requiring parking exemptions, applications can be submitted to the Rochester Police Department. It's important to note that vehicles without an exemption permit are not allowed to park on city streets or in designated municipal lots during a Snow Emergency.
To stay informed about Snow Emergencies and related parking bans, residents can subscribe to the city's E-Alert system. This service provides timely email notifications regarding winter parking regulations and other urgent updates.
By adhering to these guidelines, residents contribute to the city's efforts in maintaining clear and safe roadways during the winter season. |
