Rochester Life and Times: Celebrating Local Businesses |
Highlighting Rochester's Entrepreneurs Through Free Features |
For the past several weeks, I've been engaging with businesses throughout Rochester, NH, introducing them to our local newsletter, Rochester Life and Times, and inviting them to participate.
Every business in town has the opportunity to be featured—completely free of charge. Each featured business will receive:
A spotlight article in our newsletter
A 30 to 60-second video showcasing what makes their business unique
A press release was shared with the local area
There is absolutely no cost for this service. I'm not here to sell anything—only to help businesses get the word out. Down the road, we do offer sponsorships and advertising opportunities for those who want even more visibility, but this feature package is about celebrating Rochester's hardworking businesses.
I also understand firsthand the challenges and triumphs of running a small business. I've lived in Rochester since 1973, when my family and I moved here while I was working at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. In October 1974, I started the Shorin-Ryu Disciple Karate School in Rochester. At first, it was located in a six-bay garage behind our home on Hillcrest Drive. Later, the school moved above Kelly's Gymnastics at 5 North Main Street (See image #1) and eventually to 75 North Main Street (see image #2 and Video #1 Karate Demo on Main Street), where it remained until 1999.
This is the beginning of my story—and of this series. Over the coming weeks, I'll share more about my journey as a local business owner, why I started Rank Me 1st Media, and why helping Rochester businesses grow is so important to me.
Stay tuned for Part 2 next week!
