Event Feature: Zombie Walk & “Hawo-ween” was hosted by: PO3’s Crystal Boutique Rochester’s FIRST Three-Day Halloween Festival of Fun!
The downtown streets of Rochester came alive with ghouls, ghosts, and community spirit during the recent three-day “Zombie Walk & Hawo-ween” event, held from Friday, Oct 24 to Sunday, Oct 26.
Hosted by Rochester Main Street, the festivities featured a downtown trick-or-treat for families, followed by an adult-friendly zombie parade under the autumn evening glow. Business storefronts along North Main and Central Square participated with themed displays, free treat bags for children, live music, and concessions.
The highlight of the Zombie Walk saw dozens of costumed participants dancing and walking through downtown, heading from the Citizens Bank lot, along Bridge Street, up North Main, and finally to Hanson Street for a dramatic finale. Many participants praised the event’s energy and inclusivity, noting how the community came together from young children in simple costumes to teens and adults in elaborate zombie makeup. Downtown businesses reported strong foot traffic and new visitors discovering the historic district. The event underscores Rochester’s commitment to vibrant and family-friendly seasonal celebrations, giving local shops and restaurants a lively mid-October boost just before the holiday rush.
